Soccer Recap: Lakewood Comes Up Short

Lakewood came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Wilson Tigers, falling 4-1. The matchup was a close 2-1 at the break, but unfortunately for Lakewood it sure didn't stay that way.

Their goal came courtesy of Gabriel Thomas, who's now up to five this season.

Lakewood dropped their record down to 7-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Wilson, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-4.

Lakewood didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-0 loss against Darlington on the 8th. As for Wilson, they will head out to square off against Crestwood at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
