Baseball Recap: Pomperaug Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pomperaug can now relate to. They fell just short of the Berlin Redcoats by a score of 8-6 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since April 29th.

Pomperaug got a good showing from Brayden Cloutier, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Cloutier has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Pomperaug saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Schussler, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Pomperaug's loss dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Berlin, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.

As of now, neither Pomperaug nor the Redcoats have any future games scheduled.
