Basketball Game Preview: Belton Pirates vs. Raytown Bluejays

The Belton Pirates will head out to face off against the Raytown Bluejays at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Belton is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Belton will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Truman, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. Belton enjoyed a cozy 51-36 victory over Truman on Monday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Raytown). They claimed a resounding 54-23 win over Ruskin. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Belton's record is now 3-12. As for Raytown, their record is now 5-10.

Belton was able to grind out a solid win over Raytown when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 43-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Belton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
