Football Game Preview: Mahar Regional Senators vs. Athol Bears + How To Watch

For the first time this season, Mahar Regional will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will host the Athol Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mahar Regional will be strutting in after a win while Athol will be coming in after a loss.

Mahar Regional gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They secured a 20-14 W over Quaboag Regional. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Senators were the (much) better team in the second half.

Mahar Regional relied on the efforts of Ronnie James Stone, who rushed for 92 yards and one TD, and Danny Quigley, who picked up 46 receiving yards and one score. Those 92 rushing yards gave James Stone a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Athol fell victim to Narragansett Regional and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 37-0 loss at the hands of the Warriors. The Bears' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Mahar Regional now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Athol, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Mahar Regional suffered a grim 26-0 defeat to Athol in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Senators, Sawyer Lefsyk (who rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 43 receiving yards and one score) won't be suiting up this time.
