Basketball Recap: DC International Falls Short Against Ranked KIPP DC Legacy College Prep

On Friday, DC International faced KIPP DC Legacy College Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The DC International Dragons took a 67-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the KIPP DC Legacy College Prep Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 78-58 back in January.

DC International lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Vaughn Biddix, who posted 19 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Gavin Moore was another key player, putting up 16 points.

DC International's loss dropped their record down to 17-15. As for KIPP DC Legacy College Prep, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-4.

DC International will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Anselm's Abbey at 5:30 p.m. on February 25th. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Max Leeman and Moore. As for KIPP DC Legacy College Prep, they have already played their next matchup, a 49-45 victory against Digital Pioneers Academy on the 15th.
