Soccer Game Preview: Lincoln High vs. Millard North

The Lincoln High Links will head out on the road to challenge the Millard North Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Lincoln High is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Omaha Central. Lincoln High's winning goal came courtesy of Bashir Bashir.

Meanwhile, Millard North entered their tilt with North Platte on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Millard North's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska soccer rankings (they are ranked fourth, while North Platte are ranked 53rd).

Lincoln High has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Millard North, their win bumped their record up to 15-2.

Lincoln High came up short against Millard North when the teams last played back in May of 2022, falling 3-1. Can the Links avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
