Great Crossing came tearing into Monday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Franklin County Flyers, sneaking past 4-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-3 last Wednesday.

Great Crossing got a great performance from Landen Walters as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those six strikeouts gave Walters a new career-high.

At the plate, Great Crossing let Chase Little and Cooper Duvall run wild. Little went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Duvall went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Brenton Alcorn was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Great Crossing's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season.

Great Crossing will square off against Corbin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Great Crossing are facing the Redhounds at the right time seeing as the Redhounds are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Franklin County, they will head out on the road to challenge Garrard County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
