 It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Holmes County had no problem doing just that  on Thursday. They came out on top against the Jay Royals by a score of  4-1. The  victory was nothing new for Holmes County as they're now sitting on eight straight.
  Brianna Adams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered one  run (which was  unearned)  on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate, Holmes County's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Haley Williams, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-4.  Kiersten Womble was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Holmes County has  been performing  well recently as they've  won nine of their last 11 games,  which provided a massive bump to their 15-13 record  this season. As for Jay, their loss dropped their record down to 14-10.
 Holmes County will be staying on the road  on Tuesday to face off against Northview at 7:00  p.m. Northview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1  runs per game  this season. Jay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
