Ellie Nichols was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Hackleburg let Saylor Cooper and Braylynn Pope run wild. Cooper went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Pope went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Raegan Pharr, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, Sulligent made easy work of South Lamar on Wednesday and carried off an 11-5 victory. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Stallions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Like Hackleburg, Sulligent also got a great game from a two-way player: Ella Wheeler. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Wheeler was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Anna Claire Baughn was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Anna Otts was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Hackleburg's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Sulligent, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
