Softball Recap: Kearney Catholic Has No Trouble Against Norfolk

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northwest, Kearney Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Norfolk Panthers with a sharp 8-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Stars, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Raegan Ruyle made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. Ruyle was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Avery Cast was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Ashley Green was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Kearney Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Norfolk only posted a batting average of .100.

Kearney Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Norfolk, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-8.

Kearney Catholic didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Central City on the 6th. As for Norfolk, they have also already played their next game, an 11-3 victory against Scottsbluff on the 6th.
