Basketball Game Preview: Franklin Bulldogs vs. Early College Sharks

The Franklin Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the Early College Sharks at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Franklin and ten for Early College dating back to last season.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 73-27, which was the final score in Franklin's tilt against Newark on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 702nd, while the Reds are ranked 116th).

Meanwhile, Early College didn't have quite enough to beat Rochester Prep on Friday and fell 35-32. That's two games in a row now that the Sharks have lost by exactly three points.

Early College's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Franklin didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Early College when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 42-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Franklin since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
