Baseball Game Preview: Polo Marcos vs. South Beloit Sobos

The Polo Marcos will square off against the South Beloit Sobos at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Polo has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight defeats, while South Beloit will come in with three straight victories.

On Monday, Polo didn't have quite enough to beat River Ridge/Scales Mound and fell 5-4.

Dawson Foster made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Gage Zeigler, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

South Beloit played against Christian Liberty on Thursday and won via forfeit.

South Beloit's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Polo, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17.

Polo took their win against South Beloit in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-1 score. Will the Marcos repeat their success, or do the Sobos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
