Volleyball Recap: Newberry Has No Trouble Against Eastside

Newberry won the last time they faced Eastside and things went their way on Thursday too. The Panthers put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

While Newberry won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 26-24, 25-18.

Newberry can attribute much of their success to Abi Clanton, who had six digs and two aces.

Clanton wasn't the only good servers: Newberry was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in August.

Newberry's record is now 15-7. As for Eastside, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-17.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newberry will host Saint Francis Catholic Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Eastside, they will welcome Buchholz at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
