Basketball Game Preview: Lakeland Lakers vs. Eastside Blazers

The Lakeland Lakers will head out to square off against the Eastside Blazers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Eastside took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Lakeland, who comes in off a win.

Lakeland will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Westview, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Lakeland snuck past Westview with a 52-48 victory on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lakers.

Meanwhile, Eastside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 46-32 bruising from Lakewood Park Christian.

Lakeland's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Eastside, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything came up roses for Lakeland against Eastside in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 72-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakeland since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
