The Viera Hawks will take on the Martin County Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Viera 3.9, Martin County 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Viera is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Dwyer 9-7.

Viera let Dominic Leoni and Aiden Cameron run wild. Leoni went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Cameron went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Leoni has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Brady Jensen, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.
Viera was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .515. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Martin County duked it out with Durant on Wednesday. The Tigers came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 9-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
Cody Bennin tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits (and only one walk).
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dalton French, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI.
Martin County pushed their record up to 20-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Viera, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Viera has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Martin County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Viera suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Martin County in their previous matchup back in March of 2015. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
