Softball Recap: Thayer Takes a Loss

Thayer fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Clearwater on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Fightin' Tigers by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bobcats have suffered since May 6, 2024.

Kadyn Hilles was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Savannah Wheeler was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Thayer's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Clearwater, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Thayer will head out to square off against Houston at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Clearwater has already played their next contest (against Kennett), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
