Softball Game Preview: Oldham County Colonels vs. Bath County Wildcats

For the second straight game, Oldham County will face off against Bath County. Oldham County will be playing in front of their home fans against Bath County at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Oldham County 3, Bath County 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Sunday, Oldham County was able to grind out a solid win over Bath County, taking the game 9-4. The Colonels haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Jozie Lashley was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayla Cartledge, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Oldham County pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Bath County, they moved to 5-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
