Football Recap: South Park Comes Up Short

South Park dropped to 3-2 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They were dealt a 56-7 loss at the hands of the South Allegheny Gladiators. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly 49 points.

As for South Allegheny, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.7 points over those games.

Joey Gamret had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 139 yards and four touchdowns. Those 139 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Drew Cook also helped with three TDs in total.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Park will square off against Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Prexies have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for South Allegheny, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ligonier Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gladiators will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
