Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Royal Oak's Eighth in Last Ten Outings

Royal Oak got themselves on the board against Avondale on Wednesday, but Avondale never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Yellowjackets with a sharp 13-0 win. Considering the Ravens have won ten contests by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Alex Kissling made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Josh Adler was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Royal Oak is undefeated when Adler posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Lassner, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Royal Oak always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Avondale only posted an OBP of .222.

Royal Oak has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Avondale, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Royal Oak has already played their next matchup, a 20-3 win against Ferndale on the 7th. As for Avondale, they will square off against Harper Woods at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
