Football Recap: Temescal Canyon Titans vs. Paloma Valley Wildcats
Temescal Canyon took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They strolled past the Paloma Valley Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 28-14. The win was some much needed relief for the Titans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Temescal Canyon had a senior duo take command as Khalil Lang picked up 124 receiving yards and two touchdowns and Jordan Guerrero rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Guerrero's longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Louis Alvis Jr. made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Temescal Canyon wouldn't let Paloma Valley keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Temescal Canyon can thank Lincoln Kingdon and Gavin Rios for forcing both of them. Another thorn in Paloma Valley's side was Hunter Aragon, who made 13 total tackles (1.5 for loss).
Despite the loss, Paloma Valley still got an impressive performance from Javon Major, who picked up 61 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 73 yards.
Temescal Canyon will square off against Hilltop at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Paloma Valley, they will welcome Moreno Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
