Recap: Del Oro Sun vs. Stockdale Mustangs
The Del Oro Sun's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Stockdale 81-46. While losing is never fun, Del Oro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1332nd, while Stockdale is ranked 481st).
Despite the loss, Del Oro saw an underclassman step up: Josue Lopez-Perez scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Jorge Castillo, who scored seven points.
Del Oro has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Stockdale, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-6.
Del Oro will take on Legacy Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Legacy Christian Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Stockdale, they will head out on the road to face off against Centennial at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Centennial is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
