Football Recap: Calhoun Comes Up Short

Calhoun was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the Buffalo Bison 63-26. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Devils of the 46-22 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Calhoun lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Charter Cottrell, who rushed for 106 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries. Brennen Carpenter also helped out as he racked up 147 rushing yards.

Calhoun's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Buffalo, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calhoun will challenge Clay County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 808 yards in their previous games. As for Buffalo, they will face off against Braxton County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
