Baseball Game Preview: Oakmont Vikings vs. Colfax Falcons

For the second straight game, Oakmont will face off against Colfax. The Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Oakmont will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Oakmont is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Colfax on Wednesday as they made off with a 16-5 victory. Considering the Vikings have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Cooper Kunis was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ayden Dringenberg, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Brady Fearn was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Oakmont pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Colfax, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
