Softball Game Preview: Indian Creek Redskins vs. Buckeye Local Panthers

The Indian Creek Redskins will head out on the road to challenge the Buckeye Local Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Wednesday, Indian Creek didn't have quite enough to beat Martins Ferry and fell 9-7.

Emma Vok was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Kylie Dray was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Vok wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Indian Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Buckeye Local was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 7-2 to Martins Ferry.

Indian Creek's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2. As for Buckeye Local, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Indian Creek took their victory against Buckeye Local when the teams last played back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 18-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Indian Creek since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
