Baseball Recap: Classical Takes a Loss

Classical came into this matchup off a tough 20-run loss last Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Mt. Pleasant Kilties by a score of 4-2 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Purple have suffered since May 14, 2024.

Classical saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allen Espinal, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Classical and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Mt. Pleasant, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Classical will face off against rival Blackstone Valley Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant is set to take on their familiar foe Providence Country Day at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
