Recap: Parker Braves vs. University Christian Christians
This season hasn't been kind to The Parker Braves, who are still winless after their eighth game. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 44-20 walloping at the hands of University Christian on Friday. While losing is never fun, Parker can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 326th, while University Christian is ranked 131st).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead University Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dwayne Stuckey, who threw for 274 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 passes. Isaac Colwell made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Parker's loss was their fourth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-0 Hawthorne and 5-3 ED White (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 77.4% over those games). As for University Christian, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parker will square off against Englewood at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for University Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Clearwater Academy International at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clearwater Academy International is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
