Thunderbird gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They blew past the North Canyon Rattlers 12-4.
Austin Coates was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Coates was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
