Baseball Game Preview: Kingsley Stags vs. Grayling Vikings

The Kingsley Stags will head out to challenge the Grayling Vikings at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Kingsley will be strutting in after a win while Grayling will be coming in after a loss.

Kingsley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Charlevoix with a sharp 14-1 victory on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Stags.

Eric Stark was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last nine games. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Marsh, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Kingsley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Charlevoix only posted an OBP of .167.

Meanwhile, Grayling suffered their biggest defeat since May 15, 2025 on Thursday. They lost 16-1 to Harbor Springs. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Vikings' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Grayling's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Kingsley, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Everything went Kingsley's way against Grayling when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Kingsley made off with a 12-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Stags since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
