Baseball Recap: Archbishop Carroll Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Archbishop Carroll got themselves on the board against Northeast on Saturday, but Northeast never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Vikings. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won three contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Drew Mulligan was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Matt McGaughey also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Archbishop Carroll always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Archbishop Carroll pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.25 runs across that stretch. As for Northeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Archbishop Carroll will take on Father Judge at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Northeast, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Carver High School of Engineering & Science at 3:15 p.m. on the 22nd. Carver High School of Engineering & Science has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.33 runs per game on average), something Northeast will no doubt try to take advantage of.
