Softball Recap: New Richmond Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

New Richmond won the last time they faced Rice Lake and things went their way on Friday too. The Tigers came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Lauren Raleigh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, New Richmond's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Catelyn Swanepoel, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double. Another was Gracie Strand, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As for Rice Lake, they will take on Chippewa Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
