It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Fond du Lac had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top against the Germantown Warhawks by a score of 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Cardinals sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Fond du Lac had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-14, 25-11, 27-25.
Fond du Lac can attribute much of their success to Breahna Mentink, who had 20 digs, three aces, and a kill. That's the most aces Mentink has posted since back in September.
Fond du Lac was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive contests.
