Basketball Recap: South Plantation's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

South Plantation was the 89-39 winner over Cypress Bay when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The South Plantation Paladins took a 58-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cypress Bay Lightning on Tuesday.

South Plantation lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Franco Domine, who posted nine points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Domine a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Gabe Collier, who had 12 points.

Even though they lost, South Plantation smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive games.

South Plantation's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-5. As for Cypress Bay, their record now sits at 10-4.

South Plantation will welcome Deerfield Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cypress Bay, they will head out to take on Blanche Ely at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
