Volleyball Game Preview: Caledonia Cavaliers vs. New Hope Trojans + How To Watch

Caledonia is 1-9 against New Hope since October of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cavaliers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Caledonia and Pontotoc, and Pontotoc kept the tradition alive. The Cavaliers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors on Tuesday. While the Cavaliers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 25-18 in the first set.

Caledonia started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-6.

Meanwhile, New Hope came up short against Pontotoc on Thursday and fell 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost four in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 15-25, 25-15, 25-11.

New Hope's defeat dropped their record down to 9-20. As for Caledonia, their loss dropped their record down to 18-11-2.

Caledonia was able to grind out a solid victory over New Hope in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 2-0. Will the Cavaliers repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
