Soccer Recap: North Monterey County Takes a Loss

North Monterey County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. 2025 welcomed they with a 5-2 loss courtesy of the Gonzales Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Condors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 917th, while the Spartans are ranked 298th).

North Monterey County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Gonzales, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Monterey County will welcome Carmel at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gonzales, they will look to defend their home pitch on Wednesday against Monte Vista Christian at 5:45 p.m.
