Dynamic duo of Tylor Grove and Kamden Bose lead Southern Valley to victory

Recap: Southern Valley Eagles vs. Gibbon Buffaloes

The Southern Valley Eagles can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They strolled past Gibbon with points to spare, taking the game 66-50. The victory was just what Southern Valley needed coming off of a 74-40 loss in their prior game.

Leading Southern Valley to victory were Tylor Grove and Kamden Bose. Grove dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Bose scored 27 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Bose has scored at least a third of Southern Valley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rian Grove, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Despite the defeat, Gibbon had strong showings from Tyler Weismann, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, and Keaton Heikkinen, who scored 16 points. That was a full 38% of Gibbon's points, marking the 18th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Gibbon struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Southern Valley pulled down 18 offensive rebounds.

Southern Valley's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Gibbon, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

Southern Valley will be playing at home against Dundy County-Stratton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dundy County-Stratton is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.4 points per game this season. Gibbon's road trip will continue as they head out to face Ravenna at 7:45 p.m. on February 8th. Ravenna is coming into the match with five straight defeats at home, meaning Gibbon will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
