Softball Recap: Midtown Has No Trouble Against Mays

Midtown's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the Mays Raiders get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. That looming 17-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Knights yet this season.

Katie Tedder made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Midtown got a massive performance out of Annie Evens, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave Evens a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Myla Marshall, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Midtown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Midtown's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mays, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
