Basketball Game Preview: St. Mary's Episcopal Turkeys vs. St. Benedict at Auburndale Eagles

The St. Mary's Episcopal Turkeys will head out on the road to square off against the St. Benedict at Auburndale Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Mary's Episcopal will be strutting in after a victory while St. Benedict at Auburndale will be coming in after a defeat.

St. Mary's Episcopal took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 41-40 photo finish over Lewisburg.

Meanwhile, St. Benedict at Auburndale was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 41-36 to Northpoint Christian. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

The win got St. Mary's Episcopal back to even at 4-4. As for St. Benedict at Auburndale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

St. Mary's Episcopal ended up a good deal behind St. Benedict at Auburndale when the teams last played back in February of 2024, losing 46-32. Can St. Mary's Episcopal avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
