Softball Game Preview: White Pine Bobcats vs. Lincoln County Lynx

The White Pine Bobcats will challenge the Lincoln County Lynx at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Friday, White Pine got the win against Lake Mead Christian Academy by a conclusive 18-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.

Gianna Sedlacek was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kenna Brunson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Camden Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

White Pine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .741. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Lincoln County entered their tilt with Laughlin on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. 13 seems to be a good number for the Lynx as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

White Pine's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Lincoln County, their record now sits at 15-8.

White Pine might still be hurting after the 18-8 loss they got from Lincoln County in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
