Basketball Recap: Athenian Falls Short of International in the Playoffs

Athenian and International squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Athenian had to settle for second. They fell 55-47 to the International Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-36 on February 1st.

Athenian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Eshaan Anand, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Patleo Koffi, who scored 12 points.

Athenian's defeat dropped their record down to 14-14. As for International, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-11.

Athenian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for International, they will take on Kelseyville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in International's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches.
