Basketball Recap: Metro-East Lutheran Skates Past Madison with Ease

Metro-East Lutheran's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They breezed past the Madison Trojans to the tune of 73-34. That 39 point margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.

Metro-East Lutheran was led to victory by Junior Brown and Thijson Heard. Brown went 12-for-14 on his way to 30 points along with eight assists and four steals, while Heard went 6-for-8 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points. With that strong performance, Brown is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Another player making a difference was Ian Skelton, who posted two points and three steals.

Metro-East Lutheran has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points over those games. Madison's loss dropped their record down to 10-18.

Metro-East Lutheran has already played their next game, a 60-58 victory against Althoff Catholic on the 21st. Madison does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
