Soccer Game Preview: Willamette vs. South Eugene

The Willamette Wolverines will head out on the road to take on the South Eugene Axe at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Willamette is headed into the contest having not lost since September 15 and will look to keep things rolling. They never let Roseburg get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Wednesday. That looming 5-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Willamette yet this season.

Meanwhile, South Eugene entered their tilt with Grants Pass on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Cavemen by a score of 2-0. South Eugene's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matchups.

Willamette's victory bumped their record up to 4-2-3. As for South Eugene, their win bumped their record up to 5-2-2.

Willamette skirted past South Eugene 1-0 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
