Soccer Game Preview: Gatlinburg-Pittman vs. Oneida

The Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders will take on the Oneida Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gatlinburg-Pittman is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games.

On Thursday, Gatlinburg-Pittman earned a 3-1 win over Pigeon Forge.

Meanwhile, Oneida unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Roane County who was credited with the victory. One reason for the loss might be Oneida's aggressive play style: Ashton Morland and Levi James were both handed yellow cards.

Miles Laxton and James scored both of Oneida's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 36 goals.

Gatlinburg-Pittman pushed their record up to 12-4-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those five contests. As for Oneida, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8-1.

Everything went Gatlinburg-Pittman's way against Oneida in their previous meeting back in May of 2021, as Gatlinburg-Pittman made off with a 7-0 win. Will the Highlanders repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
