Basketball Recap: Utopia Drops Highest Score of Season Against Medina

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Utopia). They breezed by the Medina Bobcats to the tune of 86-41 on Tuesday. The Buffaloes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Charlie Leman was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 18 boards. Those 18 rebounds gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Taylor Wiekamp, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine assists.

Utopia was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win was the sixth in a row for Utopia, bringing their record for this year to 25-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points over those games. As for Medina, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season.

Utopia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 79-59 victory against Rocksprings on the 7th. As for Medina, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 54-40 loss against Comstock on the 7th.
