Basketball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence suffered their biggest loss since November 27, 2024 on Thursday. They were outmatched by the Desert Edge Scorpions and fell 70-40. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Independence had strong showings from James Davis, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Anthony Colonna, who posted 16 points and three steals. Davis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Desert Edge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-15.

Independence has already played their next contest, a 66-38 victory against Glendale on the 7th. As for Desert Edge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 95-72 win against Buckeye on the 7th.
