Preview: Tallassee Tigers vs. Beauregard Hornets

Tallassee is 10-0 against Beauregard since February of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Tallassee Tigers on the road again and play against the Beauregard Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on January 25th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tallassee suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Valley 80-47. Tallassee has struggled against Valley recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Rowen Thornton put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 21 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played.

Meanwhile, Beauregard's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by LaFayette on the road and fell 82-45. While losing is never fun, Beauregard can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while LaFayette is ranked 106th).

Tallassee's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Beauregard, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.

Tallassee was able to grind out a solid win over Beauregard in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 61-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tallassee since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
