Baseball Game Preview: Eldorado Eagles vs. Cleveland Storm

Eldorado has gone a perfect 3-0 against Cleveland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Eagles will square off against the Storm at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Eldorado is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They put the hurt on Rio Grande with a sharp 16-2 win. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.

Sullivan Wilson was a standout: he fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddox Gonzales, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Eldorado was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .645. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Cleveland faced Sandia in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Storm were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Matadors. The Storm haven't had any issues with the Matadors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Eldorado's record is now 24-4. As for Cleveland, their record now sits at 25-3.

Eldorado skirted past Cleveland 8-7 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Storm turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
