Basketball Recap: Zach Woo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Front Range Christian over Dayspring Christian Academy

Front Range Christian lost against Dayspring Christian Academy back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Front Range Christian Falcons received a blow as they fell 53-39 to the Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles. The Falcons' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Front Range Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Zach Woo, who posted 14 points along with seven steals and six boards. Woo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Freburg, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Dayspring Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Max Krehbiel, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for Krehbiel. Another player making a difference was Owen Mcclanahan, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards.

Front Range Christian now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5.

Front Range Christian will head out to square off against Denver Jewish Day at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they will welcome Estes Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Estes Park is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.7 points per game this season.
