Mount Union is 8-2 against Claysburg-Kimmel since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Trojans will head out to challenge the Bulldogs at 1:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mount Union lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Glendale, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's game. The Trojans never let the Vikings get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Ke' Andra Wible made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Payton Williams, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Maddie Dimoff also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.
Mount Union always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Claysburg-Kimmel strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against West Branch as they made off with a 13-1 victory. Claysburg-Kimmel's win was all the more impressive since the Warriors were averaging only 2.09 runs allowed on the season.
Harlee Harcolerode was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Bella Francona, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
The victory snapped Mount Union's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-6 record. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they pushed their record up to 11-0 with the win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mount Union has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Claysburg-Kimmel struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Mount Union came up short against Claysburg-Kimmel when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 10-7. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
