Softball Recap: Cyprus Has No Trouble Against Granger

After low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, Cyprus brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They blew past the Granger Lancers 19-3 on Tuesday. Considering the Pirates have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Adelaide ( Addie ) Winn, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Calee Sharp was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two triples and three runs.

Cyprus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Cyprus moved to 11-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Granger, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cyprus will face off against Taylorsville at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Granger, they will square off against Hunter at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lancers are facing the Wolverines at the right time seeing as the Wolverines are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
