Baseball Game Preview: Kingman Bulldogs vs. Winslow Bulldogs

Kingman will head out to take on Winslow at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kingman will be strutting in after a victory while Winslow will be coming in after a loss.

Kingman lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Chino Valley, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's contest. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the Cougars on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Kingman got a massive performance out of Isaiah Houston, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave Houston a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Taelon Thomason, who scored a run while going 4-for-5.

Kingman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chino Valley only posted an OBP of .412.

Meanwhile, Winslow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 10-0 to Bourgade Catholic.

Winslow saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wesley Reid, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Kingman's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Winslow, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14-1.

Winslow's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Kingman has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .520. It's a different story for Winslow, though, as they've only averaged .364. Will they be able to contain Kingman's hitters?

Kingman came out on top in a nail-biter against Winslow when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 9-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kingman since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
